Today's Project: A Nail Art Recreation- Holdiay Edition

Hey everyone! So today I wanted to do a holiday nail for Christmas being tomorrow. Looking through images online I found a few that I really liked but this one really stood out to me. I decided to recreate this nail art. I was never really good at "art" and "creativity". Turns out, I'm still not. Anyway my version came out a little "messy" but you can still tell my interpretation of the design. Anyway I thought I'd show you the original I tried to recreate. Disclaimer: This is not my image. I just tried to recreate this design.

Of course, the most trouble I had were the leaves. Anyway, I just wanted to show you my holiday manicure for Christmas this year. Let me know if you'd like to see a nail art design for New Year's. Holiday Snowflake Nails

What's up, everyone? So yesterday I painted my nails and I thought I'd share this cute holiday design with yall. I was looking around on the internet and found a few pictures of holiday nail art. I wanted one that was really simple and didn't take a lot of time. So I actually found this pic that inspired my present manicure.

I found this design really pretty, but also really detailed. I loved the snowflakes and just the creativness of it. Anyway, I'm not too good at drawing and keeping my handing super steady, so I decided to turn to my Salon Express. If yall would like a review or tutorial on how to do it, let me know. Anyway, it came with five plates and I found a plate that had a snowflake-like design. I really wish they would've had something like in the inspired picture, but oh well. First I painted my nail with a base coat because the red polishes tend to stain my nails. Then I started by painting my nails with the Sally Hansen Diamond Strenght nail polish in the shade Honeymoon Red.

After appyling two coats of that and letting it completely dry, I got out my Salon Express and picked my plate. I used the SE20 plate, by the plate. Here's a pic of it.

Now you can see which design I chose. I next took my ole' white striper and painted the three "snowflakes". I scrapped the excess paint away and transfered to my stamper. From there I put that on my thumbs and repeated on the other hand. Next for my ring fingers, I used my white striper to paint only the big "snowflake". I then scrapped, transfered and put it on my both of my ring fingers. Lastly, I used a topcoat after everything was dry and I was done. Let me know if you want more holiday nail post. Oh, I almost forgot. Here is the finished product.

Blue & Gold Eye Shadow Blogtorial

Blue and Gold Eye shadow Blogtorial

What you’ll need:

Products:

Eyelid Primer/ Cream Eye shadow

Brownish-Gold Shadow

Yellow-Gold Shadow

Navy Blue or Dark Blue Shadow

Highlight Shadow or Pigment

Mascara

Brushes:

Flat-shader brush

Domed-crease brush

Fluffy blending brush

Optional:

Eyeliner

Lip gloss or Lipstick

1)      Start off by priming both of your eyes with an eye primer or cream shadow. Make sure to prime the eyelid all the way up to the brow. Since I don’t own a primer, I used a white cream shadow. I found it really made the colors pop.

2)      Taking the brownish-gold color, using a flat-shader brush, lightly pat the shadow onto your lid.

3)      Next, take the yellow-gold color. I used the yellow-gold from my Color Me Glow Palette that I got at Walgreens for $.99. I did a haul a while back on it. Take this color on your flat-shader brush and apply it on the lid over the brown-gold color, focusing on the inner 2/3 of the eye lid.

4)      Using your Dark or Navy Blue, use the domes-crease brush to start applying color to your outer crease. Build it up as you go. For the blue, I used Skeletrina by Tokidoki. I got mine for $15 at Sephora. You can get it here: http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?skuId=1217462&productId=P257114&_requestid=141202#!keyword=skeletrina

5)      Finally, apply a highlight color below the brow bone. I used a shimmery white. Next, line your lower lashes with the navy and gold. Taking the navy blue, I line my outer half lower lashes, and with the yellow-gold shadow I lined my inner half lower lashes.

6)      Lastly, apply mascara. Any color could work. I think black would darken the look. You could also you gold, too for extra shimmer. I used navy blue mascara. It gave the look something different than if I would’ve used black.

Optional: Use an eye liner to darken the look or add some shimmer.  You can use just about any color you want. I didn’t use eye liner, but I think a black, gold, or navy liner would look really well.

To Complete the Look:

1)      Use a light pink, natural, or nude lip stick or lip gloss. I think it would be better to use a natural lip instead of a bold one, because a bold lip will draw away attention from the eyes. I think something with a gold undertone would look really nice. I used a lip gloss to complete my look. It’s a Liplicious from Bath and Body Works, in the flavor Sparking Plum. This color is basically a reddish-purple plum color and it tastes just like a plum, to me. My only problem with this lip gloss is that I can’t keep it on. I end up eating the lip gloss off my lips before I get out the door.

2)      Use a light blush or bronzer. I find that the blue and gold reminds me of a sailor look. You can use the bronzer to get that tan sailor look, if that’s what you’re going for.

Wet N' Wild Lip Balm

Hey guys! So about a week ago I was at Walmart and saw this lip balm. I thought it was cute. I was looking at the flavors and they had cherry, watermelon, and rasberry. I picked the watermelon. I made on mistake on that because when you apply this product to your lips, your lips turn green. It makes you look like a martian. The cherry or rasberry one would've just made my lips a little more red, but I wasn't expecting the green tint. Anyway, here's the pic.

What's in my Purse?

Hey everyone! I have been wanting to do a What's in my Purse? post for a while. Today I have decided to do just that. First off, here's my purse. I got it at JCPenney for $30. It's a dark gray color and it's just the right size for me. The brand is SparrowTrue. I have not found this purse anywhere online, but it might be in stores. It also has an adjustable strap, but I use this purse as a crossbody bag.

I like to keep everything in little pouches in my purse. Sorry for the two side ways pictures. My camera was going crazy.

 

In the purple pouch with the gold polka dots, I keep candy in it. You never know when you'll need it.

For the leather maroon pouch, I keep little things that I might need. I also have two key chains on it.

Hair ties, bobby pins,and a barrette.

For this one, I just have one keychain. The other one came with the pouch. This keychain is a sea horse. I got it when I was a little girl at the aquarium. The seahorse's head actually moves.

 The rest of these are just extras. I have my manicure kit, with pieces missing. I have my Cabela's pocket knife. Sorry for the upside down picture.

And some gum. That's about it.

Update on everything!

Hey guys! So, my state along with a few others, as yall probably already know, is going through hurricane Isaac. The hurricane hasn't hit me yet, but it will shortly. Today all we got was strong winds, and some rain. Any one else in the hurricane, please be safe. My internet connection hasn't gone out yet, but the lights have flickered. My New Necklace!

Hey guys! Last weekend I went to JCPenney. I saw this necklace and loved it. It's a daughter necklace. It's in a shape of a twisted heart and and it has sayings on it. I really like this, but the only thing that I don't like about this piece of jewelry is that the clasp is so tiny and the chain is a little to long. Although it has its faults, I love it and plan on wearing it everyday. I can't wait to style this with so much.

New Candle Warmer!

Hey everyone! So, the other day I was at Walmart and saw these candle warmers. I really wanted one, so I picked one up. There was many different designs on these candle warmers. I got the peace sign one. It was about $12.

For this, I got two scent of wax cubes. I couldn't decide on what scent I wanted. I first got, Better Homes and Garden's Soft Cashmere Amber wax cubes. It's really fresh and clean with a sweet scent to it. The second scent I got is by ScentSationals. The smell is No Place Like Home. This smell is a cinnamon-like ,heart-warming combination.

All in all, that's what I got to go with my candle warmer.

New Candle!

So if you've been following my post, you'll know that I bought a vanilla candle at Walmart about a month ago. I'm about an inch of it left, so when I went to Walmart the other day, I picked up a new candle.

I didn't really like the scents that Walmart had to offer, but my most favorite one out of all of them was the black cherry. It's very sweet and highly fragranced. When you open the lid, the whole room smells instantly. I really like it, and can't wait to burn it. I was hoping for some more high end candles, but I think a candle is a candle. The candle is 20oz., but it doesn't say how many hours the candle burns for. This candle was $5. I found this great.

Sorry for not posting lately, but with school, I have been really busy. I have a lot of things to do during the day. I hope I can start posting more. My New Running Shoes

Hello everyone! About 2 weeks ago, I went to Kohl's, who was having an awesome shoe sale. I needed new running shoes, because my old ones were finished. I looked at all the shoes, and then something caught my eye. I new this pair of shoes were the ones I wanted. They were the Nike Dual Fusions. My mom had a pair of hot pink ones and said they were awesome. I got the blue and neon yellow ones. I love them. It feels like I'm walking on air. When you walk and run, the shoes almost bounces you off the ground and gives you a boost. I love these shoes!

Bath & Body Works: Wild Apple Daffodil

Hey everyone! So today I thought I would share my thoughts with yall on my current bath soap, perfume, and lotion. I am using Bath & Body Works' Wild Apple Daffodil. I love it. First of all, it's great for the summer time and it has a sweetness to it, but not so sweet that it nauseates you. I really love the color of this. It's a light blue that actually matches my room color.

I got the regular shower gel, but instead of the regular perfume and soap, I got the shimmer ones. I love this. It give a sparkle to your body and smells awesome. I highly recommend this scent, especially for summer.

I used one of my three soaps that are not opened for this picture because the one I am using is almost empty. I didn't have another perfume ,so I used my current one. Sorry for the light coming from my computer in the back.

I hope this post has inspired yall to try this out. I know I didn't do much for describing these products, but I'm kind of tired. Anyway, Bye!

Maybelline Baby Lips

Hi! So yesterday I didn't post because I wasn't home all day, and when I got home, I was tired. I went school supplies shopping with my cousins. Anyway, today I am still a little tired, but I'm going to do a tiny post.

For today, I'm going to talk about my Maybelline Baby Lips. I have it in Quenched and it has a clear color to it. I didn't get the tinted ones, because I didn't know how pigmented the color would be, I really like this lip product. It is a great moisturizer. I've heard some people say that it taste like honey and lemon, but I don't taste it. It has a very light smell to me, but I still love it. I wear it alot and the only bad thing I found about this product was the price. I got mine a while back when they first came out and I paid seven dollars for it. Although I have to say that it was worth seven dollars to me. I really recommend this product.

JcPenny Haul!

So if read yesterday's post, you'll know that I went shopping yesterday. Today I am going to show you the three clothing items I got a JcPenny. All of these things were found on the clearance rack and I thought that was great.

The first thing I got was a shirt. It's cropped, but not too much. It's this navy/dark gray and white striped shirt. I really liked it and it caught my eye. The shirt has a little pocket with stripes going the opposite direction of the stripes on the shirt, which I thought was cute. Also, on the back of this top are button all the way down. This really tied the deal for me, because I don't have anything that buttons in the back. This shirt was on sale for $13 and is the brand Rewind <<.

 

 Now for the two bottoms I got. They are both by the brand BISOU BISOU Michele Bohbot. These were also both originally twenty dollars, but I got them for $10 each.

The pinkish skinny jean's color is called rose tan. I really like this color and thought it would go with a lot and go with the shirt I also bought. I found that they were high-waisted and they were a denim material. For me, they were a little long, but not to much. I really like the details on this brand of skinny jeans because the buttons are so cute. They all have little jewels in them and in this pant's case, the jewels were black. I can't wait to wear these.

 

 For the second pair of pants I got that were also this brand were a jade green color even though the lighting is making them look teal. The tag says the color is golf green. I really like these. I don't know what I'm going to pair with them as far a tops, but I just thought they were. If you have any ideas whyat I could wear with these green skinny jeans, please leave a comment. Now the buttons on this pair of pants has green jewels which I thought was a safe match, but it would've been pretty with purple, pink, or even blue jewels. 

Sorry I couldn't put these pictures like the pink pants, but I was getting aggravated, so they are staying like this. Today post was just a haul, so maybe tommorow's post will be better. Leaves comments below and I can't wait to hear from yall! Bye!
