Alternatives to Eyelid Primer + Homemade Eyelid Primer

Hi dolls! So my issue I want to discuss today is oily eyelids. Oh my god, I'll put eyeshadow on and it'll crease and fade. I hate that. I really don't feel like paying horrific amounts of money to buy a eyelid primer. I know E.L.F. and other makeup brands have cheap primers, but I'd like to try out some other remedies than going out and buy more products. So I thought I'd find alternatives to eyelid primers.

There are few very known alternatives to eyelid primers. A few of the most common are concealers and foundations. Reading around on other blogs and from other makeup gurus and artist, I've heard of them using vaseline or pertroleum jelly. I don't think I'd try this because to me it seems to sticky, which is sort of the purpose, and thick. I think it will just look cakey with vaseline, but who knows. I might just have to try it. Also when using foundation and concealer, which I do all the time, is great way too. I never set it with a powder though. Many others have said that the powder sets the foundation and/or concealer, so I shall try that also. Next, I think this is pretty obvious to every girl who wears makeup. Using eye shade sticks (NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils) and I would think even eyeliner, along with cream eyeshadows are awesome. This gives you color and a nice base to start off with. Again, I have read many reviews and tips online and have found out that many makeup artist skip the primer all together and use cream eyeshadows instead. One very common one is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Too Cool". I am actually doing a review on one of Maybelline Color Tattoos soon, so keep a look out for that. Back to "Too Cool". Not only does this bright white base give you the satisfaction of keeping your shadows in place, but it helps your shadow show its true colors. The white makes the colors pop! I think that about all the alternatives to eyeshadow I have found.

Now you don't have to necessarily use alternative products as an eyelid primer, but you can make your own! Here's what you need:

- A container to put your concoction in
- A liquid foundation and/or concealer
- A body butter (preferably unscented)

You want to use equal parts of each product. I've heard that use want to use a true body butter and not lotion or moisturizer because the oil/moisturizer will make the eyeshadows slip right off.

Okay, I think that's about it for today's post. Hope yall enjoyed it and let me know what you think.

Love yall!

Cover Girl's Tapestry Taupe Eyeshadow

Hey dolls! I hope you all enjoyed my last video post on Maybelline’s Mega Plush Mascara. If you didn’t see it, I’ll link it below. Anyway, let’s get started.
So, today I want to share this fascinating find of mine. Around Christmas time I went on a search to find an incredible cheap eye shadow that I could sweep on my lids in hurry and go. While looking at the cover girl eye shadows, I saw one that really stood out to me. This eye shadow is a light taupe, hints the name “Tapestry Taupe”. Cover girl has done really well with this color.
I’ve also heard that this color is a great dupe for MAC’s Satin Taupe. Here’s a picture I found on the internet through Google comparing the two. As you can see they look very much of the same.
This picture is not mine. I found it through Google and I am not claiming this picture. Just using this picture as refrence.

Now for the packaging. I was really surprised by this because it isn’t the usual blue packaging from cover girl. It has a black bottom with a clear flip top. I think the material of the new packaging is great though. I find it a lot stronger of a plastic than the old blue packaging. This is great because if you throw this in your purse, it makes it a lot harder to break the plastic.

Sorry it's sideways.

Another thing I really like, is the tiny applicator included. I usually don’t use these, but on the go it’s great. Especially because you’re not blending more than one color.  I’ve also found that this is a great highlight color for your brow bone if you only sweep a little on. Otherwise, it really does look like you put one shade all the way to you brows.
Anyway, guys! This is it for today. Check out my YouTube channel, comment below, follow me, and subscribe for more videos and post. If you just wanna check in and say hi, that’s okay too. Until next time, stay beautiful.
Love yall!

Nail of the Day- Wet n' Wild Fergie's Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hey my dolls! I haven't done a nail post in a long time and I decided that today was the day to turn that around. Today, I have a Wet n' Wild polish for you guys. If you know me I love their "fast dry"'s. Anyway this particular polish is from the Fergie line. I think this polish is great because it's so colorful and uinque. This polish doesn't only have the cute colorful stars ,but it also has glitter for some shimmer too. Not only do I like the polish it self, but the brush is awesome. It's wide, but flexible at the same time, so it helps you get the glitter and stars out of the bottle.

I find that this polish has so many ways to be worn. You can wear it on your natural nails or painted ones. I've looked around the internet and when you type this polish in, tons of ideas come up in the images section. I saw this polish over white, black, grey, a dusty blue, pink, and so many more. It all depends on the look you're going for. This product is very vesatile when it comes to styling it.

Now the product is great. The brush is great, but what about it's packaging. Yall, this packaging is soo.... Fergie. I mean you look at the bottle from a few feet away in a store and go "Yep, that's gotta be Fergie's new polish collection." Seriously I love it. Her name is printed in this beautiful font on the front and around the bottom of the handle in silver trim. I think my favorite part is the huge "F" on the top of the brushe's handle. I just find that not only the polish, but the packaging and the product have so much character and style. Who wouldn't want this to add to their collection?

Keep in mind that I did get this for my birthday back in November. I'm not sure where this was bought and where it's sold, along with how much it costed. I'm pretty sure that any store that sells Wet n' Wild will have this collection. I've seen Wet n' Wild at the Dollar General, and maybe Walmart, but don't quote me on that.

Anyway, if you're looking for a great way to bring life to your nails and have a little fun, this polish is way to go. I've only tried this one and I can't wait to try the others because I heard that there is a beautiful teal and lime green. Well, who knew you could talk so much about one bottle of nail polish? Have a great sparkly day!

Love yall!

E.L.F. 83 Piece Essential Makeup Collection Review

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share one of my Christmas gifts. I got the E.L.F. 83 Piece Essential Makeup Collection. This is actually my first thing ever from E.L.F. So far, I find the quality awesome. It comes with many things in this one kit.

This collection includes:
64 eyeshadows
8 lip gloss shades
4 blush shades
4 bronzer shades
1 lip brush
1 eye brush
1 face brush
Okay, so as yall can see this collection contains a lot of products and it is very easy to create a full face of makeup with this collection. First off, I want to talk about the eyeshadows. There is such a huge range of colors and they are so very pigmented. I love how you can do a smoky eye, a bright eye, or just a natural everyday eye. You can take a day look to night. The possibilities are endless and I love that.
Next, for the lip glosses. I found that these are some very pretty colors, but I also find that these don’t show up on the lips. It might just be me, but the rest of the palette makes up for it.
The bronzer and blush shades are probably my favorite, besides the eyeshadows. As far as the bronzers go, a very little goes a long way. Also I find the blushes have a satiny finish, but they are some very neutral shades and they are great.
Last in the collection, are the brushes. These brushes amazed me. Even though I found them hard to use because of the short handle/stem, I love their pickup on color and how they apply the products evenly. Also this collection has a mirror. I don’t use the mirror on mine, but it sure is handy for when you don’t have one.
I think that’s about it. I just wanted to let yall know my thoughts on this collection. This is not a sponsored post and all opinions are my own. I’ve only used this palette for about 2 and half weeks now, so my thoughts on it might change in the future.
I hope yall enjoyed this little review today. Let me know what yall think of this palette. If yall are skeptical about maybe buying this collection, I say get it and try it for yourself. You might have different results. I think this product is so worth what it cost, if not a little more. If you’re wondering where to buy this product, check out the ELF cosmetics website and I’ve also seen this palette at Target.com
Love yall!
